Strawberry Pie is a celebration of Ukraine's summer harvest and the joy of homemade baking.

It combines the sweetness of fresh strawberries with a rich and moist texture, leveraged by a crunchy crumb topping.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb of all-purpose flour
  • 4 eggs
  • 9 fl. oz. of vegetable oil
  • 9 fl. oz. of milk
  • 9 oz. of sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract
  • 2 teaspoons of baking powder
  • 1 lb of strawberries

For crumb topping (confectionery powder):

  • 5 oz. of flour
  • 4 oz. of butter
  • 2 oz. of sugar

Instructions

Step 1

In a mixer combine eggs with sugar and mix until it is slightly foamy.

Step 2

Add milk, vegetable oil and vanilla and continue mixing.

Step 3

Mix flour with the baking powder and slowly one spoon at a time introduce it into the batter, mixing until well combined.

Step 4

Pour the batter into your baking tray lined with parchment paper.

Step 5

Cut the strawberries in halves and put them on top of the batter slightly pressing down.

Step 6

For the topping, mix flour with the sugar. Cut cold butter into small pieces and using a fork or your fingers mix it with the flour and sugar to form crumbs.

Step 7

Sprinkle the crumb topping over your pie.

Step 8

Put it into a preheated oven and bake at 350 ̊F for 40-50 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean when inserted. Allow the pie to cool before slicing and serving.
