Deruny are golden, crispy potato pancakes, a delightful blend of simplicity and comfort. This culinary tradition passed down through generations, evoking nostalgia and a sense of home. Ingredients
- 5 potatoes (1,65 pounds)
- ½ onion
- 1 egg
- 1 tablespoon of flour
- 1,7 fl. oz. of vegetable oil
- salt and pepper
Instructions
Step 1
Peel and grate the potatoes and onion using a grater. Quickly mix it together so that it does not darken. Place the mixture in a clean kitchen towel or cheesecloth, and squeeze out excess moisture.
Step 2
Add one egg, flour, and seasoning.
Step 3
Heat the oil in a skillet over medium heat. Using a spoon, put a portion of the potato mixture in the skillet and form a pancake. Fry on both sides until golden brown (normally 3-5 min for each side).
Serve warm with some sour cream.
